At last, a moment to breathe, and to work on the blog.

Between traveling for the holidays and surfing the joyous, chaotic, ever changing waves of toddlerhood with L, I feel as though I haven't had a chance to do a lot of non-absolutely-essential work of late. In a quiet moment this morning, I realize that I haven't actually blogged a few full weddings from this summer. What a shame! Here we go, the remedy.

Emilie and Ronald were married at Port Gamble Pavilion in... you guessed it, Port Gamble. It was a gorgeous sunny day, made brighter by Emilie's incredible purple hair.

anne + nick | sequim wedding photography | day 2

Day two of Anne and Nick's Sequim farm wedding dawned bright and beautiful. Out of town guests had pitched tents on the lawn (my favourite detail) and spent the day exploring the area. Reception time drew near, and everyone gathered together to play lawn games in the sunshine. As guests arrived, Anne and Nick donned aprons, stationed themselves at the bar, and greeted each one of them with a drink, a smile and a whole lot of love.

For me, the focus of every wedding is the couple and the love that surrounds them, but let's face it: I'm a sucker for gorgeous details. I can't get enough of this renovated garage that Nick's stepmom lovingly worked on for months before the wedding. I'd say the decor is deserving of my favourite descriptor: RAD!

When I meet couples for the first time, one of my favourite things to ask is how they met. Usually, I get an answer like "through a friend", "at school" or "skydiving in Central Park". After a few more questions, we uncover more of the story-- how their eyes first met, how they originally disliked each other, how they longed after each other for months, etc.

Anne and Nick? Their story stood out to me. Perhaps you'll see why. 

They met at a party. To quote the bride "He was dressed as a corn on the cob. I was drunk, and wanted someone to make out with."

Call it what you will, these two have something beautiful together. All I needed was to see them together for 5 minutes and I knew it was love. A kind-hearted, all encompassing love.

After the story telling, they told me what they had planned for their wedding day. Oh, the location, the decor, the love and care put in to every last detail. I knew I simply had to photograph them.

Anne and Nick spent the last gorgeous days of August out in Sequim, surrounded by family and friends, celebrating their love, and the beginning of what I am sure will be an incredible life together. 

Since there was so much goodness to be photographed, I am going to split the images into the day 1 and day 2.
