If you've been keeping up with the blog, you'll have noticed me harping about boudoir for the last couple weeks. Naturally, this leads to the question...
Why boudoir? Or maybe even: what is boudoir?
For me, this isn't just some new business venture. This isn't just another way to make money. This is something that's been on my heart for many years, and I'm thrilled to see it finally coming to fruition.
So what is boudoir? It's a celebration. It is about capturing, in photographs, the heart and soul of a woman. That soul, which carries with it such an undeniable strength, a wisdom beyond years. In the hubbub of every day life, the mechanical grind of career, home, family, kids, chores, what have you, women often lose sight of this. So often, they lose themselves in others, in those that they serve on a daily basis, those that they give their hearts, their souls and their time to. Don't get me wrong, these can all be positive things, and should praised in their own right, but sometimes we need to take a step back. Refocus, reframe (camera puns intended), and remind ourselves of what it means to be a woman. Are you strong and confident? Shy and reserved? Loud? Witty? Sensitive? Funny? Brave? Quirky?
Good. Be that.
Every woman deserves to feel beautiful. Not objectified, over-sexualized or put on display, but genuinely beautiful. This isn't about being vampy (though if that's your thing, then bring it on!), it's not about boobs and bums and perfectly flat tummies sporting the latest lingerie. Sure, that is a part of it, and can play as big of a role as you would like. But boudoir is so much bigger than that. To me, there is nothing more powerful than capturing beauty, in all different forms and features. No, you do not need to supermodel thin (but it's okay if you are). You do not have to have the perfect shape, the perfect skin, hair, nails (but it's okay if you do). What I am more interested in capturing is you. Because wherever you are in your life, whatever you bring to the table, you are worth celebrating.
There is no better time than right now. Give a call, drop a line, send a post owl. You'll want to be a part of this.
Our majorly discounted boudoir marathon is set for March 7th. We have several spots available, but they will go fast.
Cheers, ladies.
