thanksgiving [take 2]

The first part of Thanksgiving last year was spent trying to bus tables at the restaurant, practically passing out on customers, having people ask if I was on death's doorstep, and getting sent home from work early. The second part of said Thanksgiving was spent curled up on the couch feeling like I had been run over by a freight train, while Drew made dinner in the kitchen. To say that this year's was much improved would be an enormous understatement.

Speaking of enormous (terrible transition, I know)... Let's start things off with the largest lapdog, ever. For the first time in my life, I ate deep fried turkey. Holy. Yumminess. I'm pretty sure I could feel my arteries clogging up as I ate. Sunday came 'round, and we helped decorate the house for Christmas. Turns out, this was endlessly fascinating for Chewy. Christmas is coming! I am beyond excited. We move in less than two weeks, many road trip and Washington photos to come.

thanksgiving [take 1]

See kitchen, relatively clean. Let the cooking and baking begin. Cooking is hard work, nap and drink time are required... This really has nothing to do with anything, but it was very pretty outside, so I had to take a photo. See fiancé come home, act goofy. See kitchen, complete disaster. The entire dinner was almost perfect. Until I had to cover the pumpkin pie to make it cook properly, and succeeded in ripping off the top when I took it out of the oven.

So close.
