This was one of my all time favourite weddings to date. Joy + Sean were such an honor to photograph. Their lovely families took me in as one of their own, making it so much easier to capture intimate, tender moments. Witnessing the love these two have not only for each other, but for those surrounding them was truly inspiring.

How lovely it was to photograph Sonya + Jonathan's intimate "elopement" at heyday farm on Bainbridge Island last week. They and 50 of their closest friends and family (that still counts as intimate, right?) gathered on a gorgeous July day to celebrate the beginning of their new lives together as husband and wife. The emotion here? It's real, folks.

Moments into their ceremony, as they stood facing each other under the archway, Joy reached out to Sean and pulled him closer. Too far, her gesture said. I need you nearer to me.
The love, the tenderness, the emotion on their day was palpable. J + S gathered with family, seven in all, and held a simple, beautiful, heartfelt celebration at their Bainbridge Island home. It is always my honor and pleasure to capture any couple's wedding day, but this celebration has taken special hold in my heart. You'll see what I mean.
